Jaime Jara is a history-maker

Article By Roy “Hit Boy” Arriola
Jaime “El Cu Cui” Jara (27-7-0-1) is one of the most feared fighters in mixed martial arts today. He is the only fighter in MMA history to have held world titles in four different weight classes: heavyweight, light heavyweight, middleweight, and welterweight, and all under the Gladiator Challenge banner.

A veteran fighter, Jara has traveled the states showing why he is among the most feared in the sport. He holds notable wins over Steve Heath, Givanildo Santana, Jeremiah Metcalf, and BJ Lacy, and most recently won via KO in a hard-fought battle against Felipe Fogolin.

On May 8, 2009 in Lemoore, California, Jaime went toe to toe with the former WEC Light Heavyweight Champion Doug “The Rhino” Marshall (11-3). Although Jara didn’t come away with the victory, his legacy was solidified due to his ferocious performance that night. And those types of performances are what “El Cu Cui” is known for. The beauty of Jara fighting as often as he has gives the fans an opportunity to witness greatness on a regular basis. It’s a result of talent and hard work. And Jara see’s no end in sight right now, as he continues to train three times a day everyday. Getting back to “The Rhino,” Jara has petitioned for a rematch, and local fight fans can only hope that the rematch does someday occur.

Until then, Jaime “El Cucui” Jara moves forward and continues to fight. On July 17th in Shingle Springs, California at Red Hawk Casino, Jara is set to do battle against a very tough and game opponent in Dillen Hurle (4-2). Hurle loves to swing for the fences, and against a ball of excitement like Jara, the fight promises to provide all the fireworks GC fans can handle.

Don’t miss your chance to witness history in the making as Jaime Jara, Dave Huckaba, Angel De anda, James Fanshier, Josh Thornburg and many more come to put on a great show as Tedd Williams and Gladiator Challenge present “Patriots” on July 17th.
